Gunung Sinai dalam Alkitab

Gunung Sinai (Ibrani: הר סיני, Har Sinai) adalah gunung dimana Sepuluh Perintah Allah diberikan kepada Musa oleh Allah menurut Kitab Keluaran. Dalam Kitab Ulangan, peristiwa tersebut disebutkan terjadi di Gunung Horeb. "Sinai" dan "Horeb" umumnya dianggap merujuk kepada tempat yang sama, meskipun sejumlah pendapat menyatakan bahwa dua nama tersebut merujuk kepada tempat berbeda.

Teks-teks Alkitab Ibrani menyebut teofani di Gunung Sinai dalam hal sebagian kecil sarjana, mengikuti Charles Beke (1873), berpendapat bahwa secara harfiah gunung tersebut adalah gunung berapi dan berujung pada pencarian tempat alternatif .^[1]
